Hi friends! It’s been a second, and honestly, I’ve just been swamped!
New clients, new ideas, new season… new, new, new! With all the change pouring in, I haven’t had a second to sit down and write a blog until now.
Is anyone else feeling the effects of the time change? Creative ruts are real, especially when burnout hits – and that’s definitely not what we want. So, if no one has told you yet today: it’s okay to take a break. We all need it and, honestly, we deserve it!
If you’re searching for a little inspiration to get your creative spark back, here are a few tips I swear by:
STOP SCROLLING!
As a social media manager, I am absolutely guilty of the “doom scroll.” Being online all the time has consumed so much of my day and honestly hasn’t helped my creativity one bit. In fact, it’s made me feel worse about my ideas and my work. You know what they say, comparison is the thief of joy. Here are some simple ways to break the scroll:
- Take a walk. Sounds simple, but getting fresh air almost always gives me a fresh perspective.
- Sit in the Lord’s presence. Taking time to do nothing but listen to the Lord realigns my thoughts and brings a peace that helps me tackle my daily tasks.
- Look back on old creative works. Sometimes, all it takes is a little spark – seeing something I’m proud of instantly gives me new ideas to improve, build on, or totally reinvent.
Put yourself out there!
We can get so stuck in the day-to-day that we forget to branch out. Whether it’s trying a new workout class or picking up a new book, taking a tiny step outside your comfort zone can reignite that creative spark. For instance, I just baked this new df + gf chocolate chip cookie recipe, and let me just say, feeling a lot more inspired… and full!

Let the bad habits die.
Okay, this one’s tough! Lately, I’ve been trying to break my habit of letting ChatGPT kickstart my creative process…
Working in tech full-time, I’m used to using tools to speed up workflows, but I realized I was getting a little too reliant, letting it zap the creativity right out of my bones. (And let me clarify: AI isn’t bad! But making it your creative north star…your source of truth for everything? That’s not it!) So I’m ready to get back to my old ways of organically brainstorming, dreaming, and planning!
Creativity, here we come! ✨ The end of the year is here, so let’s wake those brains up and break out of the ruts. Have any tips on sparking inspo or breaking creativity ruts? Leave a comment, I’m always looking for ways to learn or try new things!
